An walk-in interview will be conducted on 23 May 2014 at 11.00 A.M. for recruitment of six (6) Project-linked Junior Research Fellows on purely temporary basis to work in the following projects in the Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit of the Institute.

Essential: Masters degree in any Biological sciences from a recognised University/Institute with consistently good academic record.
Desirable: Experimental work on Nanobiotechnology or Nanoscience.
Fellowship: Rs.15,600/- per month (consolidated) and depending on the qualification and experience.
Tenure of Appointment: The appointment will be upto 31 March 2015 which may be extended later/terminated earlier, depending on availability of funds & performance of the candidate.
Age: Should not exceed 35 years as on 01 May 2014 with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Differently allied candidates. Age may be relaxed for outstanding candidate or candidates with relevant experience.
Candidates appearing for the interview are required to bring with them the application addressed to the Professor-in-Charge, Biological Sciences Division, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata along with bio-data stating (a) Name; (b) Address and Telephone number; (c) E-mail address; (d) Guardian’s Name; (e) Date of Birth; (f) Educational Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination); (g) SC/ST/OBC status along with attested copies of all certificates. They should also bring the original copies of the certificates for verification. Candidates will have to report at the Office of the Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, 203 B.T. Road, Kolkata 700108, on the day of interview half an hour before the time.
